To speed up the processing of supplier invoices, Acxias connected SAP software Document Information Extractor Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to the module Ariba Invoicing. Technically, after retrieving the invoice and a possible scanning step, it is transmitted to the OCR software which is responsible for extracting a set of relevant information, based on machine learning with a cloud model already trained, from the header fields and expense items. This information is then verified and matched to be entered automatically into Ariba Invoicing for reconciliation, accounting and payment. This results in significant time savings and reduced administrative processing costs.
