As part of the generalization from electronic invoice in the professional sphere (B2B, Business) in France, initially set at 1er July 2024 but recently postponed, the 4 million businesses subject to VAT will have to use the services of a dematerialization platform : either one – or even several – partner dematerialization platform (PDP) of their choice, registered by the administration, or directly the public billing portal (PPF). The latter will be an "extended version" of Chorus Pro, the platform used since 2017 to process invoices from suppliers working with the public sector (B2G, Government), which will take over all of its features and integrate B2B and B2C invoices ( consumer). According to the AIFE, theState Financial IT Agency, upward compatibility between Chorus Pro and the PPF will be ensured for users.

In the context of the planned expansion of the use of electronic invoicing within the professional field (B2B, Business) in France, initially set for July 1, 2024, the approximately 4 million companies subject to Value Tax Added (VAT) will be obliged to embrace a new practice: using the services of a dematerialization platform. This platform can be chosen freely by each company from among the private options approved by administrative authorities.

There are therefore two ways: the first invites these companies to opt for one or more of the partner dematerialization platforms (PDP), duly accredited and registered by the competent authorities. The second way, meanwhile, leads companies to interact directly with the Public Billing Portal (PPF), an entity that will embody an evolved form of the well-known Chorus Pro portal. Since 2017, the latter has established itself as the preferred platform for processing electronic invoices issued by suppliers working in collaboration with the public sector (B2G, Government). In this new version, the PPF will transcend its current functions to also integrate the B2B and B2C (Consumer) spheres, thus creating a unified electronic invoice processing space.

It should be noted, in accordance with information from the Agency for State Financial Computing (AIFE), that users will benefit from perfectly orchestrated upward compatibility between Chorus Pro and the new Public Invoicing Platform (PPF) . This assured synchronicity between the two environments guarantees a smooth transition and operational continuity for all stakeholders. France's financial and administrative landscape is therefore about to take a major step in its modernization, propelling invoicing processes to new heights of efficiency and compliance.
