In the recently published report entitled “2023 e-commerce key figures”, released this summer by the Fédération e-commerce et vente à distance (Fevad), important findings have been highlighted. According to the data analyzed, the operations most affected by digitalization within companies that make online purchases are requesting quotes and placing orders. Administrative tasks related to invoicing and supplier compliance monitoring are also undergoing a digital transformation, with 38% and 44% of companies respectively having already adopted digital methods. In addition, the workflows associated with purchase requests are also affected, with 37% of organizations having implemented digital processes and 44% having started a partial process.

The report puts forward an interesting perspective by revealing that, in today's ever-changing environment, the digitalization of purchasing processes and practices represents the fourth major challenge for buyers by 2025. This point of view is shared by 19% of participants surveyed. This concern therefore ranks fourth, preceded by priorities such as negotiation with suppliers (44%), new environmental performance requirements (37%) and supply chain challenges (27%). .

Indeed, advances in technology offer exciting opportunities to address these challenges efficiently and pragmatically, paving the way for a positive transformation of business practices.
