For more than half of the respondents (52.5%) to the Acxias online survey on the management of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), a digital purchasing solution would above all facilitate the “aggregation of multisource data”, like SAP Ariba with its module Risk Management. The definition and implementation of a sustainable purchasing policy presupposes the collection of information retrieved from internal systems, communicated by suppliers or imported from databases offered by specialized service providers, in order to analyze them. Among other suggested benefits, “automated alerts” and “tracking regulations each receive 19% of quotes, allowing effective continuous management, while the management of “supplier questionnaires” is cited by less than one in ten companies (9.5%). However, CSR criteria can be integrated at other levels of the purchasing process.

The online survey conducted by Acxias on the management of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) issues revealed that more than half of organizations (52.5%) consider that a digital purchasing solution would mainly facilitate the aggregation of multisource data. . This functionality is, for example, offered by SAP Ariba through its Risk Management module. Indeed, the definition and implementation of a sustainable purchasing policy involves the collection of information from various sources such as internal systems, suppliers or even databases offered by specialized service providers. This collection of information is essential for an in-depth analysis of supplier compliance with CSR criteria.

In addition to this key feature, respondents also cited other benefits such as “automated alerts” and “regulation tracking,” each garnering 19% of citations. These functionalities allow continuous effective management of CSR compliance. Finally, the management of “supplier questionnaires” was mentioned by less than one in ten companies (9.5%). Although this feature is not the most popular, it is still important for assessing supplier compliance with specific CSR criteria.

It should be noted that CSR criteria can also be integrated at other levels of the purchasing process. Indeed, a sustainable purchasing policy must take into account the entire life cycle of the product, from design to end of life. Consequently, an effective digital purchasing solution must allow the integration of CSR criteria at all stages of the process. The management of CSR compliance in purchasing is an increasingly crucial issue for companies concerned about their environmental and social impact.
