This not only includes validating requests and placing orders, but also automating administrative processes. Over the past two years, this transition to digitalization has mainly enabled companies to improve performance analysis and purchasing reporting.

This shift towards digital has also had positive repercussions on other strategic aspects of businesses. It has contributed to reducing the environmental footprint through more responsible sourcing, thus demonstrating a commitment to sustainability. In addition, digitalization has played a crucial role in reducing operational costs, largely thanks to increased team productivity.

However, despite these significant advances, businesses still face challenges to take full advantage of digital transformation. Study respondents identified several obstacles, led by organizational constraints and resistance to change, which garnered 44% of citations. These obstacles highlight the need for skillful change management within organizations.

Additionally, cybersecurity requirements represent another major challenge, with 29% of respondents expressing concerns about it. Data and transaction security remains a key priority to ensure customer trust and stability of digital operations.
