To set up and deploy SAP Ariba within its entities in China, the agrochemical group of Israeli origin Adama, specialized in the production and distribution of phytosanitary products, called on the local subsidiary of Acxias. The initial phase of the project, in production since mid-November in a first factory, concerned two modules: on the one hand SAP Ariba Buying on the downstream process Procure-to-receipt, on the other hand SAP Ariba Sourcing, to automate the upstream process Source-to-contract and the purchasing management (expense analysis, supplier relationship management, etc.). To unify the system, SAP Ariba was connected to the S/4Hana ERP via the CIG integration gateway, and also customized to take into account certain specificities. After a period of ramp-up and maintenance, and depending on the evolution of the economic situation, Adama hopes to extend its project in 2024, to continue deployments.

The initial phase of this initiative, successfully launched from mid-November in a first factory, encompassed two key modules: on the one hand, the implementation of SAP Ariba Buying, focused on the downstream Procure-to- receipt, and on the other hand, the integration of SAP Ariba Sourcing. The latter aims to automate the upstream Source-to-contract process, while allowing effective purchasing management, including aspects such as expenditure analysis and supplier relationship management.
To ensure smooth and consistent system integration, the SAP Ariba solution was carefully connected to the S/4Hana ERP using the CIG integration gateway. In addition, fine customization was carried out to take into account certain specificities specific to Adama's ecosystem and internal procedures. After a successful initial ramp-up phase and a period dedicated to system maintenance, Adama, aware of the constantly evolving economic challenges and the tense context, intends to actively continue its project in 2024. This ambitious next step is part of a long-term strategic vision, aimed at expanding SAP Ariba deployments to other locations and further consolidating the company's operational efficiency in the face of changing market demands.
